About Bills and Brews
There are two national trends our host, Matt Laslo, has been tracking for years now: the burgeoning craft beer industry that’s displaying American creativity in every region of the country and the uptick in partisanship that’s transformed the nation’s capital. So he figured, ‘Hell, why not pour some local hops on today’s bitter national political discourse?’ That’s Bills and Brews.
Today’s politicians bemoan schedules that keep them constantly on the move, shuttling from a floor vote to a fundraiser while they’re in Washington, only to hop a plane back home a few days later. They say this schedule keeps them from getting to know their colleagues at local watering holes, hence the uptick in partisanship.
Don’t worry; Matt Laslo is going to take one for the team. Bills and Brews is a chance to get to know lawmakers, their regions, and craft breweries through Laslo’s chats at pubs and breweries. It’s a place to check the talking points at the door. We want to celebrate what America’s doing right, in spite of our politicians doing so much wrong.
We want you to feel ownership of this site. We don’t have a lot of money or many hands on deck. So give us suggestions, interact with us on the Interwebs, and we’ll see where it takes us.
Cheers,
Your beer lovers at Bills and Brews
